It was and is my honor to serve OUR community. Furthermore, it is very encouraging when you see the results, smiles, and sense of happiness, you bring in through your deeds and actions. Even more fascinating – is when you encourage others to do better by your example.

Today I was given recognition for my actions, which melts my heart.

Thank you for encouraging me to do more.

Thank you.

Post from Wayne Tohanczyn Jr

Congratulations to Roman Zhukov on being named “2022 Somerton Neighbors Person of the Year”. Roman was long overdue for person of the year. He could’ve won this award in 2020 for starting the NEPC, a town watch that protected the community during the riots. In 2021 for hosting free weekly events for children in Somerton. But in 2022 he has established the new Somerton Welcome Center, piloting the Cat-Cut program, aiding Ukraine, and working with the 7th police district making the area cleaner and safer. This is only just scratching the surface on many things Roman does. Presenting the award is SGT.
